After 1978, Paul spent his winters in Vancouver and moved there permanently in 1987. Many paintings capture his interest in scenes of the West End, where he lived, and the West side neighbourhoods where family members had settled. He visited Victoria, and the Tofino beaches often, absorbed by the Pacific ocean spirit.

In Vancouver he was represented by the art dealer Mario xxx and had several successful exhibitions. Many of his West Coast artworks were sold.
